Extra Points Community

You help you earn extra points every week!

McNabb has issues: He got pulled in the second half against the Ravens, and there was speculation that he wouldn't start against Arizona. Now Andy Reid has said that McNabb will get the start, but I'm losing confidence in using McNabb as my starting QB.

Fortunately, within the past few weeks, someone else dropped Ben Roethlisberger, and so I dropped Jason Campbell in order to pick up Big Ben. I used him yesterday, and he got me 20 points, and I was so glad that McNabb and his -4 points was left on the bench.

The league I'm in has playoffs in Wk 14-16, and I'm looking pretty likely to make it to a playoff berth. The problem is that if I don't trust McNabb, then I've got Roethlisberger's matchups down the stretch: three out of four games on the road. Week 13-16 opponents are: @NE, home vs Dal, @Bal, @Ten.

Baltimore in particular, but also Tennessee, don't seem like entirely favorable matchups for a QB. So I'm looking at the waiver wire, and I see Tyler Thigpen. He's been on a hot streak, and his opponents are @Oak, @Den, then home vs. SD and Mia. Yeah, Kansas City sucks, but Thigpen has been putting up the points, so should I pick him up and hope for the best in a fantasy playoff run? He's put up no less than 19 points in each of the past five weeks in that league.

Other possibilities on waivers include Joe Flacco and Kerry Collins, but the matchups don't seem as good for them as for Thigpen. Thoughts?

Oh, one other note: This is a keeper league, so I'm going to be looking at keeping a QB for next year. We keep 3 players, but only one at each position... so usually QB, RB, WR. So would Flacco, for example, have better keeper potential than Thigpen?

Dude, drop McNabb and pick up Campbell again. With those two qb's you have solid options.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Thigpen's been good, but I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that opposing defenses are finally getting enough tape on him to start figuring him out. If Campbell's still on the wire, I think he'd make a much safer alternative to Roethlisberger than Thigpen.
